Pat Burrell would like to re-sign with the Phillies after the season, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Burrell was hot in the month of April, hitting .326 and setting a team-record for RBI's with 25 in the season's first 28 games.

"He always worked hard and always wanted to do good," Manager Charlie Manuel said. "I just think his preparation has improved."

"The motivation is the playoffs," Burrell said. "We got a taste of it last year, and we know we're close. I don't worry about that other stuff. This is a good time to be a Phillie. We have a great team, and the city believes in us."
