Alex Rodriguez could return to the lineup of the Yankees on Friday night as a designated hitter, according to the New York Post.

He re-joined the team in Chicago last night after the birth of his second daughter and told the Post that he hopes to play in Cleveland this weekend.

"I am hoping tonight [Friday]," Rodriguez said. "Maybe DH."

"We are going day by day," said Manager Joe Girardi. "We will evaluate Friday."
