Execs believe Boston would do the Manny Ramirez-for-Carlos Beltran swap, but the Mets show no interest in trading Beltran. They do, however, remain interested in Ramirez, who's from Washington Heights.

The Rockies offered Aaron Miles if the Mets would pay Kaz Matsui's $8-million salary, a sign the Mets will have to eat almost all of Matsui's money to trade him.
