Baltimore ? Rookie pitcher Hayden Penn never made it past the fourth inning. The 20-year-old starter could not seem to get it together as the Cleveland Indians scored five runs while he was on the mound.

Penn threw 80 pitches with only 44 strikes giving up seven hits and three walks. Over his last 5 2/3 innings he has given up 12 runs and 15 hits. "I didn't feel comfortable out there at all," Penn said. "That's two times in a row. You're going to get beat if you don't execute; I've got to get the ball down and make some pitches."

Adding to frustrations, Penn was called for Baltimore?s ninth balk of the season. Encouragement from Palmeiro and manager Lee Mazzilli did little to calm his nerves.

After 2 1/3 scoreless inninsg pitched by James Baldwin, Jorge Julio came on allowing three runs. Steve Reed let the Indians in for one more.

On a brighter note, Rafael Palmeiro was 2-for-4, logging two RBI. He now moves within eight hits of reaching 3,000 for his career. Sal Fasano scored a solo home run in the fifth inning.

Cleveland?s Jake Westbrook (6-9) pitched the team?s first win at Camden Yards since April 2003.

The O?s have now lost seven of their last eight outings. With this loss they fall 2 ? games out of first place in the AL East behind the Boston Red Sox matching their largest deficit of the season.

The Orioles and Indians face off again this evening at Camden Yards.
