A crowd of 31,547 gathered at Camden Yards to witness the Orioles wrap up a series sweep against the Houston Astros Wednesday night. Baltimore took the early lead with Melvin Mora?s first inning two-run homer. They added two more runs in the second following Brian Roberts? two-run single.

Roberts also made what manager Lee Mazzilli called ?the big play of the game.? With two outs and runners on first and third, Roberts dove behind second taking the hit from Morgan Ensberg then throwing to Jay Gibbons at first ending the Astros? early scoring threat.

In eight innings Rodrigo Lopez threw 110 pitches, including seven strikeouts, holding Houston to four hits and one run on a bases-empty home run by Jason Lane in the fifth. Lopez has lost just one game since April 21.

Wednesday night marked the Orioles? first National League sweep since 1999 versus the Montreal Expos.

The Orioles (39-26) remain first in the American League East still three games ahead of the Boston Red Sox. They face the National League?s Colorado Rockies for a three-game series beginning Friday night at Camden Yards.
