Buster Posey of the San Francisco Giants and Giancarlo Stanton of the Miami Marlins are featured in Monday's matchup. Voting will extend through the end of the first round.

Posey has accomplished a lot in just three full Major League seasons. The 27-year-old is a .304/.373/.478 hitter while playing extremely well behind the plate. The Giants may be slowly sliding him over to first, a la Joe Mauer, but for the time being Posey is one of the most valuable players in baseball. He led the National League in WAR (7.4) in 2012, when he took home the MVP, and ranked eighth in offensive WAR (5.1) last season.

Plain and simple, he is a winner. In his three full seasons -- he missed most of the 2011 season due to injury -- Posey has won two World Series rings to go along with Rookie of the Year honors and his aforementioned MVP.

Stanton, 24, made his Major League debut four years ago this month and quickly became one of the game's best power hitters. Over 2,270 plate appearances, Stanton has posted a slash line of .270/.359/.542 with 134 home runs. He has ranked in the top ten NL players in slugging in two of his three full seasons and sits second in 2014.

While the right fielder hasn't finished a year among the leaders in WAR, overall or offensive, Stanton may just be hitting his prime. Only Troy Tulowitzki sits ahead of him in NL WAR this season. Stanton has become a batting practice legend and hitter of extremely long home runs. Stanton also hits them with tremendous frequency. Since 2011, he has ranked second, first, fourth and second in at-bats per dinger.
