Red Sox Looking To Amass Prospects For Winter Trade?

Oct 1, 2014 5:11 AM

With news that the Boston Red Sox are looking to trade John Lackey in addition to Jon Lester, it appears as though they are looking to amass prospects.

If the Red Sox trade Lester and Lackey this week they are likely to receive a significant haul in return.

Acquiring such prospects would allow Boston to turn around and make a big splash by trading for Troy Tulowitzki or Giancarlo Stanton this winter.

The St. Louis Cardinals and New York Mets have remained in touch with the Colorado Rockies about the availabilty of Troy Tulowitzki.

Tulowitzki Creates Stir With Appearance At Yankee Stadium

Oct 31, 2014 9:21 PM

Troy Tulowitzki, who is currently on the disabled list, caused a stir on Sunday afternoon when he sat nine rows behind home plate at Yankee Stadium.

Tulowitzki, who has admitted that he idolizes Derek Jeter, watched the Toronto Blue Jays beat the New York Yankees while his Colorado Rockies hosted the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The shortstop later told the Denver Post that his motives were pure, that he'd been in the Philadelphia area visiting a surgeon, William Meyers, for an evaluation of his left hip-flexor strain.

"It's a short drive from Philly," Tulowitzki said. "I'm with my family. I wanted to see Jeter play one more time."

The Yankees will need a new shortstop when Jeter retires after this season and Tulowitzki has been linked to New York via trade.

Mariners Call Rockies About Drew Stubbs

Dec 17, 2014 6:28 AM

The Seattle Mariners reportedly inquired with the Colorado Rockies about the availability of Drew Stubbs.

Colorado is willing to listen to offers for Stubbs and would like a controllable pitcher in return.

Stubbs, 29, has posted a career-best .297/.335/.498 slash line with ten home runs an 11 stolen bases in 258 plate appearances.

The right-handed hitter is earning $4.1 million through arbitration this year and should be in line for a raise in 2015.
